[UpcrateBox] September 2026

Nach einer langen Pause geht es hier mal mit einem Eintrag weiter.

Vor wenigen Tagen habe ich Post bekommen, die Upcrate-Box # 77 vom September 2026 ist bei mir angekommen.

Erstmal die Infos. Die Upcrate Box ist eine Abobox mit Zeichenmaterial aus Hamburg, die jede zwei Monate rauskommt. Also ist die aktuelle sozusagen für September und Oktober. Sie kostet 28€ inklusive Versand in Deutschland.

Schauen wir mal zusammen rein.

Die Box diesen Monat war wieder prall gefüllt:

Als erstes ins Auge gefallen sind mir dies Mal die außergewöhnlichen Designs des Urban-Art Künstlers Bona-Berlin.
In jeder Box wir ein Künstler vorgestellt mit einem Interview, einem Kunstdruck und einem Sticker.
Das nächste was mir in die Hände gekommen ist, waren die drei Boxen mit auf wasserbasierenden Pantone Markern von Talens. Das waren die 3er Sets Yellow (Farbnummer: 107, 109, 111), Red (201, 200, 197) und Cool Grey (CG 7, CG 5, CG 3). Ich habe mich sehr darüber gefreut, ich hatte durch eine Abobox mal 4 andere Farben der Marker erhalten und jetzt habe ich mehr Auswahl ₍ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ₎♡~
Die Pantone Marker basieren auf dem Matching System von Pantone.
Außerdem war noch ein Identi-Pen Dual Point von Sakura, ein Solid Paint Marker von Sakura (Green, #29, habe ich vorher noch nie gesehen), ein Blatt um selber Sticker zu zeichnen und ein A6 Block von Talens, extra für Pantone Marker optimiert. Und irgendwie als Meme für mich, ein Ölpastell Stick von Talens VAN GOGH, oft sind die als Goodie dabei. Warum auch nicht?
Neben all dem Künstlermaterialien ist immer eine Bottlepost dabei. Die ist ein kleines Magazin, hier werden die Materialien vorgestellt, das Künstler Interview wird darin abgedruckt, Tutorials werden gezeigt und man findet Bilder von Künstlern die, die  Upcrate-Challenge gewonnen haben.
Auf der Rückseite des Magazins findet man den "battle topic" des Monats, wenn man mit den Materialen aus der Box zu dem Thema ein Bild malt, dieses bei Instagram taggt, kann man bei dem Wettbewerb gewinnen und wird im nächsten Buch abgedruckt (einen Gewinn gibt es auch).

Kommen wir mal zum Swatchen ₍ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ₎♡~

Erstmal hat mich das Papier überrascht, mit meinem Preppy Füller konnte ich darauf nicht gut schrieben, die Tinte ist da etwas verlaufen, was man etwas bei der Überschrift sieht. Aber mit dem Identi-pen ging es ohne Probleme, dieser basiert auf Alkohol. Auch der mir unbekannte Solid Marker hat mich überrascht, er glitt über das Papier und fühlte sich wie ein Öl-Pastell Stift an. Und die Auswahl der Pantone Marker gefällt mir auch sehr, irgendwie sehr herbstlich. Auf dem Papier sind die Farben auch nicht durchgeschlagen. Also wird es eine Art Markerpapier sein (?), ich werde ihn in Zukunft mal weiter testen.
In der Bottlepost sind die Kosten der Materialien immer aufgelistet.
Zusammen sind es zusammen, laut Heft, 37,70€.

Ich bin mit der Box sehr zufrieden und freue mich darauf, jetzt etwas mit dem Inhalt umzusetzen. Das Thema des Upcrate battles ist diesmal "Love".

NEW IN - ArtSupplies

I haven't bought many drawing materials lately, here's a small collection from the last few months.

Unfortunately, I only have the photo from my Insta story, sorry.

This is my small haul from Klinchandra on Etsy. They're handmade watercolors from Bangkok, Thailand. I have all of her colors and am a huge fan. If you order from her, keep in mind that customs fees may apply.

Then I treated myself to something at Gustavson because I had a discount code. And the fountain pen with dragonflies and the adapter are from TH!NK INK.

I bought the Schmincke merchandise there. The great brush rest in the shape of a tube and the beautiful paper clip ໒( ♥ ◡ ♥ )७ 
Also, a Platinum artwork pen, a ruler for tearing paper, a KUM long point sharpener, the Roman Szmal urban sketcher mini metal box and a few colors from this brand. My first ones.

And these are the 12 Roman Szmal colors I have. Here I've made a mixing chart for the first time. Such beautiful shades, only next time I'll use a larger format.

I also did some shopping at the Künstlershop because of the Schmincke promotion (15 percent off (ﾉ^ヮ^)ﾉ*:・ﾟ✧) from last month.

I have wanted to try out the Aqua drops for a while. I also bought the primary colors from Schmincke HKS Designers Gouache. 
And my second brass paper clip from Schmincke, because I think they're so beautiful (*ﾟｰﾟ)ゞ
As a goodie I got a little sweet, like at Gustavson, but this didn't live long enough for the photo... 
And I also got a tube tong, which I really l wanted, but it was sold out. Happy me °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
Sadly I couldn't try out all the drawing materials because I suffered because of a tendonitis all month.
But that will change in the next few days ∩(︶▽︶)∩

My favorite art supplies 2024

This blog post is about my favorite drawing supplies I purchased in 2024. As always, I bought everything myself; I didn't get anything that appears here for free.

Let's start with my current favorite colored pencils.

These are the LYRA Rembrandt-Polycolor artist colored pencils. They are a bit harder than the FABER-CASTELL Polychromos, which makes them the perfect pencil for lining. I've been using them since last year for watercolor drawings to create the outlines—they don't smudge or blur at all.

I also use them to touch up my watercolor paintings and add more depth. I really like them o(〃＾▽＾〃)o

I’ve also started using other erasable colored pencils for sketching. Before, I always used STAEDTLER Noris erasable and PRISMACOLOR Premier Col-Erase.
But these ones are much more affordable and erase better than the ones from STAEDTLER:
MAPED COLOUR’PEPS OOPS.

At just 26 cents per pencil, they’re absolutely unbeatable — and there are so many great colors to choose from!

I discovered them through the UPCRATE box o(^∀^*)o

And when I’m not drawing lines with colored pencils, I currently love doing it with the PLATINUM Preppy.

They’re affordable Japanese fountain pens that feel great in the hand and, thanks to the Carbon ink, are even waterproof — perfect for lining or just drawing in a sketchbook.

In addition to the ink cartridges, I also bought a converter so I can refill my fountain pens with ink later—it’s much cheaper than using cartridges.
But make sure when purchasing that the cartridges contain Carbon ink, otherwise, they won’t be waterproof.

In 2024 I used carbon paper for the first time to transfer my sketch onto very thick watercolor paper. 

Often the light table doesn't work because of the thickness. It makes transferring so much easier.
Really life changing ˭̡̞(◞⁎˃ᆺ˂)◞*✰

Because I've been using a lot more colored pencils in the last year, I've also bought a new pencil sharpener. I already have an electronic one, but it often sharpens too much, so I wanted a hand-operated one.
And this SWORDFISH Ikon sharpener is superb. It also came with a replacement blade in case the old one gets blunt.

Last year, I switched completely to cotton paper for watercolors. I only use my old paper for sketches and less important drawings.

And the 
HAHNEMÜHLE Expression cold pressed is one of my favorite watercolor papers. It can withstand a lot of erasing and is very easy to layer on.

And last year, I finally bought Daniel Smith watercolors.

With these colors, I also switched to tubes because they are so much cheaper than pans.
Daniel Smith has so many color variations that I didn't know before.

I also really like their Primatek range (Colors with "Genuine"), which is made from real minerals. My favorite colors so far are: Buff Titanium (it makes such great mixtures), Aussie Red Gold, Amethyst Genuine, Moonglow, Fuchsite Genuine, Quinacridone Burnt Orange, Naphthamide Maroon, Rich Green Gold, Cobalt Teal Blue and much more.

It's time for another ScrawlrBox reveal for May.
The Supply Theme is Charcoal, my second last favorite art supply... besides pastel.


Here an overview:

The contents are this month: 2 Coates Willow Charcoal Sticks, a Seawhite Black Compressed Charcoal Block, a Koh-I-Noor Giocoda Charcoal Pencil, 2 Lyra Rembrandt Pencils (White, Sepia), a Lyra Rembrandt Splender Pencil, a Winsor & Newton Medium Kneaded Putty Eraser, a Faber Castell Perfection Eraser Pecil, a KUM Magnesium Double Hole Pencil Sharpener and a PaintOn Gray Paper pad A5.

This time I don't have a swatch sheet.
This month challenge word is "Carbon Heroes" and of course I choose Taichi and Koromon from Digimon Adventure as a true Digimon-Fan <3

Hello again (ﾉ^ヮ^)ﾉ*:・ﾟ✧

This time I will show you the April ScrawlrBox.
It was a watercolor based box, lucky me <3

I'm very late with this box, but I'm still waiting for the may one, so it's okay.


Here an overview:

The contents are this month: 2 Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer Watercolor Marker(Phthalo blue, Cadmium yellow), 3 Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer Watercolor Pencils(Emerald green, Deep scarlet red, Walnut brown), a Derwent Sketching Pencil, a Pro Arte Polar Series 31 Round Brush (Size 6), a ScrawlrBox watercolor pad (300 gsm, cold pressed), an artist review, a candy and a sticker.

These markers and pencils are really high pigmented with stunning, lightfast colors <3 

With really great reacting with water(almost completely loosing).

My favorite supply is of course the brush - I'm a "brush-collector" ٩(♡ε♡ )۶

This month challenge word was "daydreamer".

And this is my finished piece for it:

You can see my own characters (OCs) Caelo and Kardes from my coming manga series "Caelestes" on a mysterious creature ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

It was hard for me to mixing all these colors with only 5 colors, but it worked somehow.

But it was fun and there will come more and more pictures of them <3

Otaku-Update # 06

Hi there (*＾▽＾)／

I decided to continue writing this blog in English.
I mean I will try it with my crappy "English"... （ ゜ρ゜)°

This time I start with a small April Otaku-Update.


Let's start with some art supplies:

Since I got this both art subscription boxes (Upcrate and ScrawlrBox) I am buying fewer drawing materials. Luckily x´3
I really love this Pearlcolors from Coliro, so shiny and opaque (not only on black surfaces, on all).
This both pens are Fudepens from Tombow with a hard and a soft tip, good for writing and for filling black spaces(like hair, background in a Manga Panel).
This pad is from Clairefontaine, it's for Manga storyboarding and therefore very thin.
And I bought a new fountain pen(from Schneider) after years, I really like to write with it <3


Next topic Artbooks:

I've got this both artbooks.
The left one is "Final Fantasy Official Memorial Ultimania Book" with artworks from FF VII - IX. It's the first book of three, the second one will be released in September 2020.
And right the fantastic Guild Wars (The Complete Art of Guild Wars: ArenaNet 20th Anniversary Edition) artbook  (｡♥‿♥｡)
So much wonderful art works, I definitely scan some artworks and making posters out of them <3
I got two small artbooks aside this two from Final Fantasy VII Remake(Deluxe Edition) and from Persona 5 Royal(Phantom Thieves Edition).


And next and last topic Games:

As written above, I bought the deluxe editions from Persona 5 Royal and FF VII Remake. And I wanted to play FF XII again, it's my first time with this remastered edition.
